New Dry Vintage Waxed Cotton Jackets from Dubarry of Ireland

Dubarry of Ireland sent two of their PrimaLoft filled jackets from the new Dry Vintage Waxed Cotton collection for a bit of field testing.

The Dry Vintage Waxed Cotton has been developed and supplied by a Scottish mill and has a lighter wax content than other wax jackets.   True to its name, it is dry to the touch and does not have to be re-waxed, a good option for those who like the wax cotton look and function but not the waxy feel nor the concomitant labor.

The PrimaLoft fill means these wax jackets can take you right through colder weather.   They are comfortable to wear, and they have sturdy storm flaps, brass closures, and YKK zippers.

These are also for people who prefer a contemporary, shorter cut.

Because these are from Dubarry, whose boots and tweed shooting coats are favorite items, the leather trim is water repellent.

Dubarry USA is well stocked with so many terrific styles of boots for both Men and Women.  Shown here are their fully lined Kilternan Boots in Walnut.  The same fabulous boot for which Dubarry is famous, but fully lined for extra warmth in the cold weather.  And waterproof, of course.

Field Testing the Dubarry Bracken Tweed and Galways in Ivy

It is easy to see why the Dubarry of Ireland's Bracken coat is so wildly popular.  What stands out immediately is the lovely Scottish Tweed and the comfortable cut, as well as details such as the cast metal buttons.  The weight of the coat is also very nice,  not too heavy and perfect for autumn.  Dubarry has rigorously but subtly treated the tweed and leather for the elements.  One does not have to size up, but I did.  Shown here in Heath.

Roscommon Country Boot from Dubarry of Ireland

The Roscommon Boot from Dubarry of Ireland is an ideal boot for this time of year, both for general wear and also for gardening.  The Roscommon features the same waterproof qualities and superb construction as all of Dubarry's country boots, but in a shorter style for warmer weather, which makes a cooler boot.  I have been wearing them every day.
