The Arthur Beale Erebus Boat Neck Pullover - Made in Britain

Photo by Salt Water New England
The Arthur Beale Erebus Boat Neck Pullover is such a rare creation that it is amazing that, in this day and age, it exists at all.  At home in Arctic conditions, the ribbed sweater is unbelievably thick, and made with fabulous oiled British wool, but it is also sized generously.  The 2XL size very comfortably fits this 6'4" frame.

  1. Simply the best warm sweater money can buy. And if I ever found myself in the Arctic (unlikely), this is what I'd want to have along.

I have the Erebus in their Black Welsh Mountain (Brown) color. Wonderful and cozy.

Now is a good time to get one with the very favorable (for US Customers) Dollar/Pound Exchange Rate. One Pound = 1.26 Dollars ... the best in several years.

  2. The gentlemen in the photos, are Jack Donnelly the only khakis he wears? And may I ask what fit those are? I wear the relaxed fit myself. Great khakis.

    1. Yes, pretty much since they started making them. He used to wear Bills. M3s when going out, and M2s the rest of the time.

    2. Thanks. Excuse my typo, which should have been “gentleman.” Bill’s and Donnelly’s both are excellent. Orvis also, nice military stiff, could use a longer rise, but seem to wear along the bottoms where they touch the tops of the shoes. Just heard about All American Khakis. Significantly less expensive; not sure how different the quality is.

  4. one observation - the sleeves on this sweater are so thick that they don't comfortably fit under a Barbour jacket for me. Otherwise, hearty endorsement. It's a great, super-warm sweater.
