Navy and khaki was the combination to wear when you did not want to think about the combination to wear. And remains so today.
It is not fussy. It can take a bit of dirt and wrinkles. It can also host a striped or motif belt with just a sliver of personalization and dash.
The combination provides a natural camouflage in so many places, fitting in, improving the scene, and most importantly, never standing out.
Yes -- Navy and khaki are a reliable combo. They'll always look good together and are therefore some of my favorite colors to wear. And while I quite like my white and light blue Oxford cloth button down shirts, I've got several such shirts in navy for exactly this reason. They're harder to find, but are quite versatile in my view.
ReplyDeleteMy go to uniform for 40 years. My heart is beating fast
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a go to uniform. Muffy I have a question relating to mocs I have seen your husband wearing in pictures. They are brown with white soles as a boat shoe but are made as a camp moc style. Are those Quoddy ? I really like those and wanted to ask
ReplyDeleteHi Jim - Yes, they are custom Canoe Shoes from Quoddy.
DeleteMy standard uniform as well.
ReplyDeleteA constant go to!
ReplyDeleteKhaki and navy, or khaki and baby blue, or khaki and pink...but always khaki, and, unless it's Summer it's always khaki and navy. Cheers for SWNE!
ReplyDeleteWhat brand are the shorts in the picture ?
ReplyDeleteThe shorts are Musto
ReplyDeleteKhaki and blue, really all you need 95% of the time.
ReplyDeleteMusic to my ears! Understated practicality wrapped up nicely in two colors!
DeleteI’m partial to green shirts, medium to hunter, and will sometimes swap in medium blue or brick red shorts instead of khaki tan.
ReplyDeleteA renegade.
I appreciate the response on the shorts brand…..I went to the Musto website and couldn’t find any shorts that looked like the ones one picture. Any thoughts!!!
ReplyDeleteYou may want to broaden your search on Google. "Musto bermuda short" or "Musto khaki shorts". I tried, and a few did pop up that looked similar.
DeleteIt's quite possible that the shorts in the picture may be discontinued.
I'm pretty sure that's a race boat in Newport, so those are probably crew gear. Check Team One in Newport.
