Line of Duty?

Are other readers watching BBC's  <Line of Duty>, and if so, could they share their thoughts?

Favorite quote from Season 3 (with apologies to LBJ):

HASTINGS: The signed authority from Superintendent Summers is a bit like grandma’s nightgown -- it covers everything.

  1. I'm interested in one thing, and one thing only . . . and that's BENT COPPERS!!

  2. No, thanks. So disturbing to listen to dialectal British English.

    1. Gosh, that's a bit snobbish. No "Peaky Blinders", "Doc Martin" or "All Creatures Great and Small" for you then; just Received Pronunciation. This article is an interesting read: https://qz.com/624335/the-reason-you-discriminate-against-foreign-accents-starts-with-what-they-do-to-your-brain/

  4. Of course we are watching! The show is much less about character and much more about plot and action than other British offerings, but it's SO compelling.

  5. I watched part of the first season - too disturbing, especially that little boy.

    1. That little boy should help us understand the kind of people that commit mass killing.

  6. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and am happy to read that the new season will air in the US this month.

  7. I suspect season 6 will jump the shark. We've figured out the gimmicks and it just gets too hard to sustain the thrills. The unpredictability starts to become predictable. In a fun way. That said I've watched the first five seasons twice: still enjoyed the shocks and appreciated the intricacies of the twists and turns even more. Great writing and acting by the 3 principals, supporting cast, and superb guests.
