Ladies Loafers?

 A reader question:

Any recommendations for where to purchase ladies loafers these days?

  1. Might not be straight "SWNE" material but I love the suede drivers from M. Gemi.

  2. Belgian Shoes are the best! Tasteful, understated, and very comfortable. They are handmade, and their sizing is particular, so ordering is a bit of an ordeal, but well worth it.

  3. I love my Belgian shoes, but I have also had very good luck with House of Bruar loafers. Leather Penny Loafer = PRODUCT CODE: TA05414. These are very good for work and for the price, I don’t care if I trash them. The soft version is great for the summer.

  4. House of Briar is classic!

  5. I'm male and only buy loafers from two places now - Alden and Rancourt. I don't know if Alden makes women's shoes, but Rancourt's women's loafers are worth a look.

  6. For classic traditional loafers Rancourt, Quoddy, and Russell are all excellent. These are listed in escalating order of pricing. I have bought Rancourt and Quoddy for my wife.

  7. I used to be a big fan of Belgian shoes, but sadly over the years, they are actually even too soft for me now and don't always provide good arch support. I also used to wear Ferragamo for work, but I now find the leather too rigid sometimes for my poor feet (I am actually long overdue for an operation on my feet). A British friend recommended Baudoin & Lange Belgian loafers in the UK; I am considering ordering a pair. Apart from that, the only shoes I seem to tolerate lately are Ecco shoes from Denmark...not strictly loafers, I know, but they do have a range of decent styles that provide comfort.

  8. I get my classic penny loafers from Bass. Still quite well-made.

  9. I have worn Hush Puppies since I was a small girl. Also Tods.
