Autumn Shirt Promotion at Cordings of Piccadilly

Photos by Muffy Aldrich

Cordings of Piccadilly is once again having their "Buy Two Shirts, Get One Free" promotion.  They have a slew of new tattersalls along with the old favorites, both made of 100% brushed cotton (middle and right in top photo) as well as 80% cotton, 20% wool (left in top photo).

But it is not just tattersalls.  They also have shirts in Chambray, Linen, Poplin, and Oxford.  And in solids and ginghams and stripes.  A great time to stock up.

Shown in order:

  1. Done! Have been meaning to try a few of these shirts for ages. Thanks for the nudge.

  2. I ordered two of their tattersall shirts (brown/blue and leaf/wine) a couple of months ago based on the occasional recommendations here and like them very much. They're just the tiniest amount fuzzy (not nearly flannel) and they of course have the wide-ish British collars that are obvious in the photos. I think they're an excellent change, now and then, from my usual oxford cloth shirts with button-down collars.

  4. I have been wearing Cordings’ shirts for a number of years now, and like everything else they sell, the quality and traditional attractiveness are outstanding.

May I name drop here? Okay:

  5. Cordings shirts certainly have long tails. If you removed the collar, they could pass as Pakistani outerwear.

Shirts are downstairs but the till is upstairs. They wrap your purchase up in a ribbon before putting it in the bag.

  6. Unfused collars are so hard to find now. I take the stiffeners out and let them break down a little.

  7. The choice of tattersalls is huge, bigger and better than any other brand. Cordings shirts have long tails and a generous shooting fit so it's advisable to check out the size guide before buying.

  9. Shirt order arrived late last week, and the three are lovely. Extremely soft and comfortable. Wore the first one today (Monday) with necktie, navy blazer, and grey flannel pants. Very pleased with how the shirt(s) will integrate into my existing rotation. Thank you once again for the heads-up.

  10. They are terrific shirts. The fit for me is a problem. There is no option to get sleeves long enough. I generally wear a 15 1/2 or 16 with a 35 to 36 inch sleeve.
Even if I order the 17 1/2 or 18, the sleeves are too short after several cold water washings.

  11. Muffy,

Do you know if the special offers on the Cordings website correspond to offers at their physical store? I ask because I’m in London 4-6 times a month and our company hotel is very near their store.

    Regards,

    Nathan
