I like Quoddy's Canoe Shoe, which is very similar to an old Bean design, and made by some of the people who used to make the Bean version before they offshored production.
I used to really like the Casco Bay shoes. I just sent back a pair because the left was too tight and I walked out of the right one. Plus, they just didn't like the same. Like plastic leather.
I've had several pairs of Quoddy shoes and I recommend them wholeheartedly. Pick the style that suits your needs and go to town. I promise that you'll get far more than their money's worth out of them.

ReplyDeleteI'd stay away from standard boat shoes. Instead go for gym shoes with Vibram soles. Nothing beats Vibram for stability and non-slip characteristics.
ReplyDeleteboat shoes by definition need white soles.
ReplyDeleteMore important that the soles be non marking. Plenty of boat shoes don't have white soles.

ReplyDeleteQuoddy is the best!
ReplyDeleteQuoddy all the way!
ReplyDeleteAfter many years away from the brand I recently bought a pair of Sperry Topsiders, and so far, they have been perfect.
