They can serve the role of smoothing out an otherwise unruly oxford. For those who steer clear of Shetland sweaters for business calls, lambswool V-necks can be a useful alternative. For women, they set off pearls nicely.
Lambswool V-Neck Jumpers combine a Scandinavian sleekness with British soul. They can be thrown on thoughtlessly, the highest praise. And some prefer a more muted Navy or Grey, while others lean towards bright, dashing colors. Sleeveless pullovers are a good option when wearing under a jacket to minimize bulk.
While they should be on the thin side, some versions are too thin, cheaply made and unsubstantial.

Beautiful sweaters Muffy. 😉 Navy and grey for me. I like them to show off my necklace or pearl drop earrings but I admit I don't wear my oxfords underneath, feels too bulky for me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn an oxford shirt under my V-necks in ages ! These days I prefer them layered over either a crewneck tee or a lightweight turtleneck.
DeleteBeen wearing Shetland v-necks for years. Have around 15 of them in a range of colors/shades. No doubt they add elegance and refinement to almost any outfit. Should be a staple for every New Englander!
ReplyDeleteJust superb! A timelss classic to be sure!
ReplyDeleteI've worn V-necks forever both as a school uniform and well into my adult years :)
ReplyDeleteI did not see any lambswool sweaters for women at this company, sadly. For me, men's sweaters are very ill-fitting. The options at Cordings include merino and, interestingly, possum.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me how the Cordings V-necks are sized? If between two sizes should one size up or down?
ReplyDeleteHawick Knitwear, Scotland. Perfect lambswool sweaters.
ReplyDeleteI like the 2 ply cashmere sweaters from O’Connels
