  1. I guess I’m just a blue collar kind of guy who happens to wear white shirts when doing chores but I really appreciate “workers” be they the two legged or 4 legged types. I’ve got a little stuff to do today and this picture will be a reminder that someone thought we were interesting enough to take a picture.
    As always, thanks.

  3. I had a certain amount of exposure to men like that when I worked on a farm in Massachusetts the summer when I was 17. There were no horses around but my chief memory of the farm workers who supervised us was their New England accent.

  4. As someone who’s life is built around horses, I really enjoy this photo. Horses are disappearing from daily life. Of course we don’t use them for work. But now they have become a novelty. And in the world where I spend my time people don’t realize that. I’m in northern Michigan at an international horse show with 3000 horses here. And, there is no connection or relation to daily life with these horses. It’s a sport.

  5. Your father was a very gifted photographer. I love the horses with their leather collars, the man’s expression. Black and white photographs concentrate on the subject without color as a distraction. It completely draws the focus to the image. Gifted photography in color or black and white has been passed from father to daughter in your family.Great genetic gift:) Thank you for sharing.
