  2. Have always appreciated the extra warmth and freedom of a good vest whether made of down, fleece, wool or canvas.

  3. I am a big fan of the original turtle fur fleece neck warmer made in the little town of Morrisville, Vermont. I don't suppose it would go with the elegant outfit here, but I am always amazed how wearing a turtle fur neck gaiter can make one feel as if a whole layer of warmth has been added to one's outfit. So much warmth for so little weight and material!

    1. That sounds like something I should try. I go out walking most every day, usually just about the time it's light enough to see. We've had freezing weather for a few weeks now, though not below 20°. I have no trouble staying warm but my eyes water something awful. Usually wearing a jacket with a hood prevents that from happening but most of my jackets with hoods have hoods that are too small and there are other disadvantages.

  4. Cordings' stock of field clothing, especially jackets, appears to be significantly smaller than usual for this time of year. Hopefully, that is due to higher online sales rather than Covid-related supply chain issues.

For no apparent reason, I have not received any email updates from Cordings for several months. Unfortunately, there are also functionality problems with the website, e.g. the available size filters don't work. It's too time consuming to check the available sizes for each garment and colour. Not good!

    1. Ken - I just spoke to Cordings. The stock issues are indeed because of strong online sales, not supply-chain problems. They are aware the filters are not working and are trying to fix the problem. They apologize and may just end up removing the filters all together. Regarding the emails, they have not sent any out recently. But if by chance you unsubscribed by mistake, you can re-subscribe as they are unable to do so for you.

    2. Muffy, many thanks for taking the trouble to contact Cordings and providing this very valuable update. It's reassuring that online sales are strong and that the website issues are being addressed.

It must be tough for the team who are coping with Covid closures and the Piccadilly store's structural works at the same time.

I'm looking forward to visiting the new Jermyn Street store when lockdown ends. La Martina, the previous occupier, had spent a lot of money on fitting it out.
