  1. Sorry, have to pass. We will be 'recovering' from Bermuda aboard our J-44 awash with Dark and Stormies at American that week.

    1. This is the best comment made on this Blog in the past ten years. Totally the “Thing Before” in every word yet unintelligible to 97% of the readership. Brilliant.

    2. Why is unintelligible good?

    3. Because is proves that the “ Thing Before” is utterly unique and not to be confused with what you think of as Preppy. There are perhaps fewer than 50,000 living souls from the “Thing Before”, none of whom you have ever met or would recognize. That’s why.

    4. @Anonymous at 4:17pm And yet the very act of commenting on the post in this way is so not "Totally the "Thing Before"....

    5. And how, pray tell, would have the slightest knowledge of this entire subject? Do tell us your “ Thing Before” credentials. We’ll wait.

    13. Yes. No. Maybe.

  3. A true feast for the eyes. Craftmanship! A good reason to wrap up the season with a stay at The Ocean House or if you had a bad experience with yellow when you were young - try The Watch Hill Inn

  4. One regret I have is not spending more time in the Newport area when I attended the Newport Folk Festival. I drove up from Pittsburgh for the weekend for the concert. I did some walking on the cliff walk but missed the beauty and history of the area. As the saying goes I wish I have known then what I know now.
