ReplyDeleteJust love the TR4 (or6?) in British racing green with tan leather. Why can't we have cars in these combinations anymore?
ReplyDeleteWe had our 30 year old jaguar XJ repainted in Epsom green last year. It looks much better than the grey original paint.

DeleteAh, Bowdoin campus in July. 25 years ago my older son and I visited Bowdoin in late April after he had been admitted to Bowdoin as well as other colleges. It took about five minutes for him to decide to attend Bowdoin. Two years later his brother matriculated as well. They both had exceptional experiences there and have remained close to several classmates years down the line. Heaven on Earth.

DeleteBeautiful non-factory blue color on that Volvo 240DL. Now I'm thinking about having my factory Graphite Gray 240DL repainted.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, that is a factory color; I have one sitting in my garage. The car was my grandmother's. She gave it to me a couple of years after I graduated from college. It's been a spare car for decades now (and she didn't drive it a lot when she owned it), so the mileage is really low. Since my grandmother threw away nothing, the original sticker is in the glove box along with the owner's manual. The color is called Appalachian Blue.
DeleteIt seems like practically every time I take it anywhere, someone offers to buy it. I'm hanging on to it. It's a great car, and I remember my grandmother every time I get in it.

DeleteObviously, I had never seen that Appalachian Blue before, and anyway, now I know which Volvo paint color to ask for. Your Grandmother had great taste, and thanks for the tip.
