The Autumn Glow

There is never a better time for the Golden Glow, as I call it, than now.   Not the colloquial perennial flower  name, but that family of autumn colors that look completely at home at football games, harvest festivals, and parents' weekends.

  1. Is there a difference between Lambs wool and Shetland wool? Most, if not all of the products listed are of lambs wool even when labeled Shetland wool.

  3. A lovely ensemble! If only parents presented similarly at my institution for weekends, games, and other autumn events. I did spot a guy some weeks back, who might have been a parent -- in a rugby jersey, khakis, and leather deck shoes -- walking down the sidewalk across from campus in a group one Saturday as my wife and I drove by. He was as much of a sore thumb as I am.

  4. I long for the days when LL Bean offered similar, made in Scotland, products. Thank god I still have a few left from those days.

  5. I have been very disappointed with my recent purchases from Harley. The fit and is much slimmer and I needed to move up a size. The Shetlands wore out very quickly, e.g. elbow holes within two years. I’m planning to buy replacements from Jamieson’s this year.
