The New Douglas Rollneck from Cordings - Made in the British Isles

Photos by/of  Muffy Aldrich
I took the new Douglas Rollneck from Cordings of Piccadilly out for a shakedown cruise, if you will, albeit with a bit of an apple-retrieving retriever diversion.  Made in the British Isles, and offered in Navy as well as Light Beige, it is a supremely interesting and formidable garment.

The first thing you notice is how very thick it is, almost felted in feel.  The second thing you notice is how soft it is.  And the third thing you notice is how perfectly designed the neck is.

While this is a Men's pullover, like most mariner inspired knitwear, it works equally well as a unisex item, where I always roll up the sleeves a bit more and often flip up the hem once.

It is rare to have such a beast of a sweater, I dare the wind to penetrate, that is also so soothingly soft.  And it is in a great shade of Navy, never a given.

Made in the British Isles.
