This 100% Scottish wool tweed shoot coat for Ladies has a very lovely design and is so easy to wear. Neither too light nor too heavy and, with this most recent shot of cool dry air coming in from the north, it was ideal with just a tattersall shirt underneath. And when the chill becomes more pronounced, there is plenty of room for a sweater underneath.
Gore-Tex lined and Teflon coated, it has all the trimmings one would expect for shooting - cartridge pockets and tabs, rib-knit inner wool cuff, fleece-lined hand warmer pockets, and a two-way zip - and it also has a somewhat surprising feature, it is machine washable. And the Heath tweed is one of my favorite Dubarry tweeds, I also have it in their Bracken coat.
And of course their boots are outstanding, made of their signature DryFast-DrySoft breathable leather, and also lined with Gore-Tex. I wear practically nothing else on my feet in the cooler months and these are a nice mid-calf height, for a slightly easier on/off experience.
