    1. No it is the opposite of preppy. Loud, trendy, and easily attainable.

  3. Pickleball... is just the worst. It's so loud. People who live near pickleball courts (i.e., pillaged tennis courts) have no peace, it's like a shooting range from early morning until late at night. That's just not a very thing-before-preppy thing to do to people. I do miss biking to tennis and the beach, though, that was an amazing quality of life. Could still do it if not for the cars.

    1. There is not, nor will there be, any pickleball in Connecticut’s northwest corner. Thank you.

    2. And so we thought the same in southeastern shore of Massachusetts. No avail! Personal home tennis courts are being converted to pickle ball courts. Indoor facilities opening up at a quick clip. Athletic clubs offering lessons and fee-based court times! Yep lessons😂. It’s become the athletic version of the “neighbour who wouldn’t leave”

Vicious cycle there as people drive to the courts and make the traffic worse.

The best quality of life decision we've ever made was moving to a neighborhood where everything is connected with no major roads. Parks, trails, and water are all walkable, which has the nice effect of not contributing to car traffic going there.

  4. You'll pry my pickleball paddle from my cold dead hands! Our town has a ton of courts, they are always full. The tennis courts were never full. We have an active engaged community of players. No shame in this game! I don't know anyone who plays late at night...seems like it would be hard to see the balls, lol. The courts located at our middle school have hours ending at 5pm out of respect for the neighbors. I can and do cycle to pickleball, the beach is walkable.

  5. Pickle Ball is about as "preppy" as bowling. It is frivolous and noisy, requires little, if any, skill. I hope it is a fad that will fade...soon!

  6. I played Ivey squash, tennis since I could walk and now pickle too. Good sport is good sport.

  7. If you live in a small coastal town, cycling everywhere will get you faster to the courts/clubs/dinner etc.
Sidenote: pickleball was banned in my small town in any outside area due to the noise, however, the local academy has agreed to let those people play inside.
