ReplyDeleteDoes Red's close up in the autumn? I've only been there during August or Labor Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Disneyland-Of-Lobster closes in the fall.
DeleteFantastic pictures of Wiscasset
ReplyDeleteShout out to the hard working boat hauler!
ReplyDeleteWe lived in Wiscasset in the Buttermold House back in the seventies. The house had an old brick fireplace that you could almost walk into with a dutch oven built in alongside. RE the boat hauler: We sold our 30' sailboat, truck and trailer to a guy from Missouri. The truck had 225K miles on it and was not in good shape. When he flew here to pick the rig and boat up to drive back to Mizzou there was snow in the air and on the ground. He paid me by check and I went to the bank IMMEDIATELY to cash it. You see the truck was only two-wheel drive and I wasn't sure he'd make it up the steep hill in Wiscasset in the snow. We never heard from him until a month or so back when another guy got in touch who had bought the boat from that owner. It had made its way to Missouri successfully. The new guy loves the boat so all's well that ends well.
DeleteI have been in a steep hill situation on an icy surface in a full truck & pad trailer and noped right out. The trucker (aka my husband) just laughed, let me out and put it in low. He's a legend in the industry.
