For your readers who wear pajamas, where do they get them? Winter and summer options would be much appreciated. Thank you and enjoy Autumn in New England.
I highly recommend Domi (sleepdomi.com) for lighter weight, 100 percent cotton, classic or oversized women’s pajamas. I enjoy Dôen nightgowns for summer— softest cotton lawn fabric. I recently moved from the mid-Atlantic/DC to Augusta, GA, so I do not anticipate wearing flannel pajamas any time soon, but L.L. Bean made classic navy flannel pajamas with white piping from Portugal that I enjoyed for many years.
Eileen West cotton lawn (or any other material) for summer; Lanz of Salzburg or their own Portuguese flannel nightgowns and robes - all from Vermont Country Store. In the past all are soft, comfortable and wear like iron. Some of my nightgowns are years old; my 15 year old Lanz robe is starting to look a little worn.
Talk about long-wearing --- I still have a Lanz flannel nightgown from 1982! Blue floral stripe, round yoke trimmed with eyelet, back buttons. A cherished cozy favorite.
I was just about to send Muffy this same question today. Spooky!
I’ve seen LLBean listed a few times here, and I cannot recommend their flannel in good faith. At least in my experience, they look like rags after 1 or 2 washes (pulling mine out of the washer today, disappointed, made me think to send this question in as well but was beaten to it!)
I like Lanz as well, but aren’t they all made in China now? Correct me if I’m wrong. Last nightgown I got from them said “Made in China” but maybe there are other styles that are still American- or European-made.
The best pajamas I have are from Lake, but they are more suitable for summer-wear. For all weather, my favorite by far are the ones from By Merryn, but she only makes one style.
I will keep monitoring these comments for more ideas ;)
Yes, Lanz is made in China. Apparently the Vermont Country Store and LL Bean flannel robes are both made with Portuguese cotton but VCS robe is made in Portugal. Bean just indicates it's "imported". Wonder where it's actually made.
Agree wholeheartedly with Anon 4:55. Needham Lane pajamas are the bomb! Small woman-owned business in the Berkshires. Short sleeve, long sleeve, no sleeve - they've got you covered!
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned J Press's Oxford and broadcloth pyjamas? They're not cheap but the design is classic and traditional. Avoid Derek Rose as the quality has declined considerably along with large price increases.
I've had LLBean flannel pjs, and they are okay, but I really enjoy my wearing cotton-linen sleepwear from Toast UK as they are the most comfortable for me and have the large pockets I need.
I like the LL Bean flannel plaids but am disappointed that the plaid never matches on the side seams, and why they've never done anything about that for years amazes me. My go to favorite now is Petite Plume for beautiful prints and plaids.

DeleteBean's lined flannel robes are also fantastic for a cold winter morning in front of the fire.
DeleteFor the summer, I have a blue broadcloth robe from Brooks Brothers that's right in pretty much every way.

ReplyDeleteL. L. Bean flannel, never fails!
DeleteLL Bean flannel; have both the scotch plaids and the dog prints. They hold up well; have had them for years. Very cozy and comfortable to wear.
