I think 'The Daily Prep' was a good name for the blog.
ReplyDeleteThe Lacoste cap with the adjustable leather strap is just great. Unfortunately, this type of cap cannot be found in the Lacoste online shop. Is it from a former collection? Maybe a Roland Garros special because of the Tour Eiffel on the tab?
ReplyDeleteThe links show that it is a DYO monogram cap with alligator embroidery from Eliza B, not Lacoste. It helps to read the article thoroughly.

ReplyDeleteThey're Adams caps which you can find on Amazon, sans embroidery. Nice caps with a faded vintage finish but the embossed 'ADAMS' on the back leather strap leaves much to be desired, particularly when paying a premium from another vendor. Myopia uses the same caps. If you can live with the branded strap their 'Coral' color should find some adherents on this site.
ReplyDeleteMight one customize the cap? Please . Can the embossing on the back strap be rendered unreadable with a felt tip pen?
ReplyDeleteThat'll look sloppy and the branding will still show. If you or someone you know has a sturdy sewing machine and steady fingers you can reverse the strap which is a decent rough out suede. It's a tight squeeze but for $10 worth a try.
ReplyDeleteYes, that’s a good idea. A felt tip pen can do wonders. But not in this case. Your $10 likely well spent. Logos are an abomination. They amount to free advertising for the manufacturer. Very occasionally the clothier might pay the consumer to wear a logo -bearing garment. But these situations are few and far between.
ReplyDeleteHear hear ! Logos, among other phenomena, are major contributors to the on going, ever increasing, coarseness of the world around us. A world many of us successfully and fortunately avoid. We do so often by way of retreating to Salt Water New England. Thank you !
ReplyDeleteThe cap - and super that no one here called it a hat as they do on other less sophisticated blogs - looks newish to me b/c the logo is so large. Agree with all that logos are garish and getting larger all the time. But I remember the days of college and early yuppie life when a small crocodile or a polo pony were much desired. Question about that shirt. Is it a Lands’ End Sail Rigger? That is the only recent type I can recall, since Michael-Spencer ceased business, with both a locker loop and a back collar button. JDV
