    One of my favorite people. In the late 1950s as he left the Yale Peabody Museum to become the new Director of the Smithsonian, Dillon Ripley bought the about to be demolished 18th-century Samuel Frisbie house in Branford, CT, which stood on the future site of the new Branford High School. Then Dr. Ripley had it moved piece by piece to Litchfield CT where it was re-erected and now anchors the beautiful Ripley Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is very active and about to host a program for Valentine's Day called "Ducks in Love."
