That sweater is still my favourite look on Muffy. I outgrew mine in my 20s four decades ago, but I think I can still purchase a similar one from a Norwegian site. I love the Golden's facial expression. Very sweet.
Thank you. The original, I believe, is sold by Norlender, and as I am closer to Norway than I am to Maine, the former will do nicely. But thank you very much anyway.
Though Bean sells Norwegian sweaters, they aren't the same as the versions they used to sell. they're 100% wool now, not 80/20 wool/rayon, and the fit on the current 'heritage' version is quite a bit slimmer in the body and sleeves. Devold sells 'Islender' sweaters that I prefer to the current bean version.
I love a mindset that appreciates people, dogs, and things as they age, collecting stories along the way. Plus, I would much rather sit on the sofa and rub my eleven year old English setter's back than chase after a puppy.
George Graham Best's "Tribute to a Dog " is required reading & bring your handkerchief. Plenty of road time for my Field Bred English Springer Spaniels in that 240 Wagon.
All four are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a nice combination.

ReplyDeleteLL Bean still sells them. Made in Norway and now in a couple of other colors in the same pattern as well.

DeleteI could've sworn the old ones from Bean's were made with 100% wool in the body and 80/20 in the collar, waist and sleeves.
DeleteHad the same sweater, same dog and same car! Great post! Thank you

ReplyDeleteOld friends are the best friends.
ReplyDeleteDog is my co-pilot.
ReplyDeleteThese images are the perfect tonic as I sit and bemoan this post-Thanksgiving head and chest cold. Thanks for the smile and warmth.
ReplyDeleteParadise!
ReplyDelete...and together, they fight crime !!
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture, nostalgic for me, sweater and dog the same. Goldens just become more endearing with age.
ReplyDeleteA most perfect combination! And nothing " old" in sight!
ReplyDeleteI got a little lump in my throat. I'm such an old softie when it comes to dogs who are no longer with us; great post. :-/
ReplyDeleteThat smile at the end photo, melts my heart.
