  1. Is there also a work glove shortage?
Glad to see that you've put your picnic basket to good use!
I just sorted my own work gloves the other day. I washed/bleached my current ones, rubbed leather conditioner on them. I purchased two more pair after a frustrating search. It's been a long time since I replaced my gloves and I wanted to replace my favorite Midwest women's Goat Gloves but am unable to find them so I had to settle for the Men's Wells Lamont medium in light taupe/tan on Amazon. I prefer the light gray taupe color as it doesn't bleed any dye when wet. I also have the same cowhide pair you do with the red bead. I can't live without work gloves, lip gloss and hand cream.

  2. I am complete in love with your rugs. They are so well loved and maintained and beautifully worn. Please, is there any chance that you might consider a post on the maintenance/repair upkeep? Thanks for considering.

    1. Make sure to always take the rugs to be cleaned by a company who has been doing it for a long time and who know what they are doing. A rug is only as good as the pad; we pull ours up at least twice a year and vacuum it and the floor under it. It's stunning the amount of pulverized dirt which sifts through the rug and pad.

    2. Thank You. I do the reverse, and I can’t believe how much dirt gets through either! Appreciate your response.

    3. Thank you! I understand exactly what you mean with the sifting dirt. Even with regular vacuuming. I appreciate the response & I never thought much about routinely replacing the pad, it doesn’t look to be in bad shape. For areas where the dogs are I am considering the washable rugs, any experience with them?

  3. Only Muffy could make something as mundane as work gloves look so artistic and beautiful.

  4. I have Dupytren's in one hand and it's hard to get work gloves on. Anyone know a source for work 'mittens' with a single finger for the digit next to the thumb? Thx

    1. Try looking for “trigger finger” mittens. Maybe a pair without a lining might work for you.
      Thank you.

  5. I do exactly the same thing, only I use the cardboard box that a new faucet set came in. It was a Moen, if it matters.

My father was never one for giving me advice, probably because our life experiences were so different. But one thing he said was not to wear gloves too much. They'll make your hands soft.

  6. Gloves make all the difference when it comes to heavy duty work. Your hands can endure more strain--especially arthritic hands like mine.

  7. Having a storage box for your gloves is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. I have a garage and am happy if I can find one for each hand.

  8. Gloves are a necessity when cutting, splitting, and stacking wood. They are extraneous in the garden.
