It looks as if my mother or grandmother might have knit it. That is a great compliment. I miss getting sweaters and argyles from them every once in awhile.
Sad to hear that after 150 years at 194 Shaftesbury Avenue, Arthur Beale are closing their shop due to pandemic impact. Ever resilient, they have a new warehouse in Buckinghamshire, and will continue selling their wares online while expanding their clothing range over the coming weeks. Time marches on!
I ordered one of these in September of the past year, and have been using it almost constantly for my daily walks during the shoulder seasons. It's quickly become the best clothing purchase I've made in years; breathable and durable. I've found it outperforms all my Patagonia and Patagonia-like pullovers/quarter zips on any day that's a bit damp or cool. So sad to hear their London storefront is closing. I'm determined to place another order of clothes from them shortly - I figure I ought to do my bit to keep their online shop and warehouse operating.
Ordered this on Saturday. Had lamented the absence of size XXL in white/ecru, but grey/oatmeal works.
ReplyDeleteI have the Black Welsh Mountain (brown color) version of this Beerenberg.
ReplyDeleteIt is solid and cozy. A superior quality pullover -- none better.

ReplyDeleteJust a superb garment! Thank you so very much!
ReplyDeleteOh, looks perfect. Just missing a cup of tea and a good book. Ok, maybe a boat instead.
