Cordings of Piccadilly: We sat down with Muffy Aldrich...

From their blog:
We at Cordings became aware of Salt Water New England, created by Muffy Aldrich a few years ago.... We sat down with her for a virtual afternoon tea (with scones!) and asked her about her style and living in New England.

  2. Wonderful. Congratulations. A good long chat and plenty of space to expound your views. I love Cordings; for me it's the craftsmanship, the attention to detail, the authenticity. I was surprised there was no mention of the affinity (good and bad) between preppy and the Sloan Ranger look.

    1. What could possibly be a "bad" affinity?

    2. Perception that Sloane Rangers were obnoxious entitled rich kids. Goes for many people's view of preppies at the time, come to think of it.

  4. In THE OFFICIAL SLOANE RANGER HANDBOOK (UK, Ebury Press, 1982) New England preppies are referred to as "cousins," so there we are!

  5. Pleasant read! If only you could have nudged them to offer some of the men's knitwear in smaller sizes (XS/S)!

  8. Ms. Aldrich,
Some of us--for some odd reason--are unable to access the Cordings website. Could you please reprint the interview in full?
    Thank you.

  16. I love the Cordings store in London. I stay with a friend about 100 feet from there and spend a lot of time shopping.
