Mercer Shirt Delivery! Including Their New "Kind of Green" Oxford

Photos by Muffy Aldrich
A Mercer shirt delivery always makes for a good day, and today's included two "old" favorites and a new green oxford.
While green is not what I tend to think of when it comes to oxford cloth button downs, their new Kind of Green intrigued me, brighter than many I have seen, and playing quite nicely with pinks and blues.  So I am very much looking forward to giving it a spin.  (Right now it is getting a spin in the washer.)

And this time they also included their most recent swatches, all of which tempt.
Greens are notoriously hard to photograph.  This is more accurate than the first photo.

  1. They make excellent shirts. As close to the Brooks Brothers & J. Press shirts I bought back in the 60s & 70s

  2. All lovely, but that Tattersall! That's one I have earmarked (some months ago) to include in the next order.

    Kind Regards,

  3. Was on the fence on the Green Oxford, liked it for same reasons you listed, but also thought might be too shamrock shake-ish, how does it work in practice for you, do you pull it out much?
...does your husband where it or just you? ccw

  4. The green is terrific... for St. Patrick's Day. Maybe Christmas, if paired with a sweater/down vest/flannel blazer in the right shade of red. Otherwise, not so much. And I say this as a person who LOVES green.

  5. I was taken aback by the first picture of the green but then saw it paired with the Fair Isle and was relieved it wasn't as bright.

  6. I would wear the kind of green Oxford any day of the week with a Navy blue tie with white bars, Bill's Khakis British khaki flat front pants, Alden color 8 loafers and a 3/2 blue blazer. Good for if you're feeling up-beat or Kind of Blue.
