Muffatola! Thanks for showing the unwashed masses comprising the vast majority of your readership as to proper way to wear a turtleneck. Men and women should never, ever 'roll down' the turtleneck as to create two layers of fabric. Instead the turtleneck should be extended to his zenith, landing ever so close to one's chin. If True Prep land, this style produces the desired effect of announcing one's self as a member of the true, the few, the heroic True Prep world. Bravo.
If bought by a man, it's a bold fashion statement. I can see some of the younger set buying it out of an outsized sense of irony - but I doubt it. Noteworthy that it seems to be sold out in XS and Small - which I interpret as it selling well to women who, for reasons of fitment, might prefer a smaller men's size rather than a women's size. That said, I doubt highly that J.Crew ordered many of these. Seems like an attention-getter (which seems to be working) rather than an actual profit point.

Love my hot pink turtleneck! It works well with so many things I own.
ReplyDeleteThe closest I ever got to wearing a hot pink turtleneck was a bright red one I had a good while ago... and yes, I wore it folded over on itself :D
