HA! Yes. I just went in to check my wife's closet and counted 97 on her similar shelving... although about a dozen were sweatshirts and quarter-zips. I love that she wears them; they keep her warm. She hasn't gained a pound in the sixty plus years since she was eighteen so many of the sweaters are that old.
Looking at this post and the one featuring the tattersall shirts I had a minor epiphany on one of the luxuries of reaching a certain point in life. Ms. Aldrich has figured out what wardrobe pieces work for her and what companies to get the best of these pieces from. I think of all the time I spent in my younger years trying on clothes, going to different stores and trying different labels and I realize that clearly understanding your wardrobe is a true luxury.
I saw this post last year but sweaters aren't really a thing here in FL. But when I was looking for closet inspiration for my closet, shelves and such make over, I thought of this one. Great closet with all the cubbies.
Extraordinaire. Can’t help but noticing what is stored on “the top shelf!”
ReplyDeleteA lot of jumpers for one person even if it does get chilly. Needs a big wardrobe too.
ReplyDeleteNo cedar in sight - how do you repel moths? I buy cedar blocks every year (or two) and put them on the shelves.
ReplyDeleteEverything with wool content , I have to keep in see-through airtight plastic containers. Moths , moths , moths ................
ReplyDeleteA sweater here. A sweater there. Before you know it you're a bit overwhelmed! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteOver 80 sweaters?

DeleteYes, over 80, and rumor has it that Muffy is going to be changing her first name to "Imelda." Mrs. Imelda Aldrich.
DeleteGive her time,
Deletethere is always the upcoming year to build up a reasonable amount...
Wonderful collection. Beautiful patterns on many. Between my husband and myself we have enough to fill our cedar chest.
