Love these pictures! I always enjoyed looking at the livestock at the state fair in Virginia, but that was 40 years ago. The people in the photos all look so relaxed and natural. We forget the beauty found in older faces in our youth obsessed culture.
His photographs are essential historical records, as well as being fine art. It would be a benefit to all if you were to produce a book of them. (Please!?) Thank you..
OR would make them in awe of the technological advancements and 50% of them (women), would be thrilled that they were (almost) equal to men in our GREAT country
Nary a corn dog or fried cheese curd in sight; perhaps that more of a south/middle America tradition. I'm puzzled by the lack of missing fingertips, though. Having worked in a few farm communities, it's rare to spend time with a group of farmers who haven't shed a digit or two in some sort of mishap.
What wonderful photographs... the one of the woman in the truck with the oxen tied outside is spectacular!

ReplyDeleteThe Guilford Fair and green :)) I marched around it many times in marching band. The photo of the boy and two cows is precious.
