ReplyDeleteThe best laugh you'll have today.
You are so right! That was one of the funniest sketches ever on SNL. Can't even tell you how many times I've watched it - hilarious!
DeleteOh my God, I had never seen that one before. Hilarious!!
DeleteWe've held out on Alexa. I see the convenience, but it still seems to Jetsons for us right now. GLH
ReplyDeleteI don't have Alexa (still a bit suspicious of too much tech chez moi), but I do love to listen to the shipping forecast for the British Isles (though I live in Switzerland, which is of course, landlocked). My favourite Saturday evening thing to do is to have a nice bubble bath at 6 pm, enjoy a mug of herbal tea, and listen to the shipping forecast.
ReplyDeleteYour real name isn't Mrs. Bale, is it? if so, say hello to Rocky and Madge for us.
DeleteOne of my all-time favourite sit-coms.
DeleteDarn, you beat me to the Mrs. Bale comment! Great show.
DeleteMrs Bale- Everyone beat me to it. What a great show. the best.
DeleteAlexa play Mahler, 9th Symphony Adagio. Alex Play Arvo Part, Festina Lente. Alexa play James Brown... the list goes on...
ReplyDeleteDon't have an Alexa but my most asked question would definitely be, "What is the temperature?" (Here in Atlanta, I stay indoors most of July and August.)
ReplyDeleteI just bring myself to go there!
ReplyDeleteWhat time does the dispensary open?
ReplyDeleteWhere did I put my vape pen?
Tell me a joke, Alexa, nothing racist or sexist though
Turn off the lawn sprinklers, it's raining!
Put on some groovin' tunes, pronto
Dr. Robert Greenberg is a character -- though in the audio format you don't get to see his emphatic gestures.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say that I love that course and Professor Greenberg. Even though it's a music course with very little to look at, I prefer the video to the audio. I have watched/listened through the course several times. He does a number of other music history courses at Wondrium.
DeleteRegarding the Shipping Forecast, some of my favorite memories are of listing to NOAA Weather Radio with my grandfather on his Cape Dory sloop on the coast of Maine--before NOAA switched to computer-generated voices. The real humans of the Shipping Forecast are a joy even when I have no intention of sailing anywhere near the British Isles.
ReplyDeleteWhen the grandkids are here, they love to hear Alexa play “Dead skunk in the middle of the road”.
