  1. I don't live near the ocean but I do take daily walks through the woods, starting directly behind the house and ending at a local pond, which the county calls a lake (it's about half the size of Walden Pond). It's about two miles round trip. I frequently see deer, occasionally foxes and once last week, a deer hunter. But the people I meet are infinitely more interesting and most of them are walking their dogs. I've learned a lot about dogs, the nicest one being a Belgium shepherd. I've also learned to identify the hooded merganser, a few of which showed up a few days ago, along with a few geese.

    1. Land Cruisers (especially older ones) get a pass. :-)

    2. The Toyota Land Cruiser is without equal. From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe it is the most reliable, longest lasting, vehicle for actual off road use. For years we drove one on The Horn of Africa, where often the best “road” is a dry riverbed.

    3. The sticker on the Toyota shows the owners are also fans of good music.

    4. Right! Good eye. “It goes to show you don’t ever know. Watch each card you’re playing, play it slow...”
