  2. Ah, the original Mini... a now lomg-retired colleague of mine, and former officer in her majesty's army, once described his experience in the 1960s, driving down an English country road as night fell, and suddenly - for no apparent reason - the lights in the vehicle went dark. It wasn't simply in passing jest that the owners of these cars referred to Lucas (the wiring and lighting system manufacturer) as "the prince of darkness". Had quiet the chuckle over that...

  3. Before marriage and kids I had a Miata and was taking riding lessons in the Virginia countryside. My lesson was on Sunday evenings so late Sunday afternoon I would drop the top and do my best to get lost in Virginia Hunt Country west of DC before finding my way to the stables. What I remember most was the wonderful scent of freshly cut hay and the pockets of warm and cool air. In a convertible driving is so much more than a visual experience.

    1. I agree completely. I drive an '08 Mini S convertible, always top down. It makes me feel fifty years younger!
