A friend once observed, “after World War II they wouldn’t even admit an Italian American into Yale. By the mid-seventies, an Italian American was president of Yale.” That friend would also tell you, if you’re stepping up from a plain apizza, ask for light mootz. And, buy only cannoli that’s filled on your order, while you wait.
