544, probably 1062 - 64 Vintage. I had a 1959 544, B16 engine with twin SU's. Lovely car to drive although a bit hard to see out the back. Fast, aglile, and unbelievably easy on gas. Same bent up front bumper whic results in the same slightly unhappy expression on its face. This one you shot here is in great shape, beautiful car.
My friend's dad had one of those, but in black. He drove it from Connecticut to the train station in Brewster NY every week day. He called it "OVLOV" and had that as a vanity plate. It must have had more than 300000 miles on it.
That is a lovely ride, taking me down memory lane. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just love that Volvo !
ReplyDeleteGood ol’ PV 554?
ReplyDelete444 I believe. A tad older.
DeleteUpon closer inspection you may be right. I cannot tell if the first digit is a 4 or a 5. I hate having old eyes!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! A timeless classic! Thank you so very much!
ReplyDeletemiss those quarter vent windows
ReplyDeleteMy dad's buddy had one of these, with a red leather interior. As a kid, I thought it was the cat's pajamas, and sporty to boot!
