  2. Hope everyone is safe! I do hate to see such large old trees damaged.

  4. I was a little worried about our host during the past few days, remembering the time of the great snowstorm that shut things down for a week or so.

  6. Here at the Jersey Shore we were hit hard (again). Lost power, internet and cable for 5 days. Today we're back! Someone said Isasis was like Sandy without the flooding. Trees down everywhere. Generators running 24/7. Thinking about taking the plunge and getting that whole house generator. They told us Superstorm Sandy was a once in a 100 year event. 100 years are passing quickly these days!

  7. Looks like CT got walloped! We lost one tree in the neighborhood and one sailboat up on the bricks.

    1. Wallop is an apt description. Power (and internet) finally returned yesterday afternoon. We had three trees down across power lines in our area. On Friday, we were taking the dog to the vet for annual shots and were blocked on the main road by a downed tree. I thought, no problem, I'll just take the side roads and go around it. Ha! there were so many trees down across the side roads it was like trying to exit a maze. After a half hour, I finally gave up and went back home. A colossal mess. We had one large tree come down on our property, but no damage to the house or garage. The pool, however, appears to be a spa for tree limbs and leaves. Still working on cleaning that up. But, it's just clean-up. No injuries or real harm done.

  8. Plenty of firewood for the winter. Love the kids at the beach and the wonderful shingled beach cottage. Life goes on!
