  3. Mystic Seaport was the first trip my parents took me on as a little kid. I remember the smell of pine tar quite clearly. Suppose that's why I enjoy drinking lapsang souchong tea...

    1. I got to visit Mystic Seaport when I had a summer job in Massachusetts in 1964. Went to Boston, too. Don't remember a lot, though.

    2. The maritime art collections were wonderful too. I think they may have owned a couple of works by Antonio Jacobsen.

  4. Mystic Seaport was one of the best places I visited when I was a young Connecticut resident in the 1960's.

  5. I had to do a double take at the first photograph! My grandfather always wore a cap, black and red plaid jacket shirt, and smoked a pipe! Cool pictures. --Holly in PA
