Stormy Weather

Often, the best place to be during stormy weather is out in it.

  1. I couldn't agree more with this sentiment, literally and metaphorically.

  2. Loved walking the beach as storms produced dramatic breakers. Alas, no close beach proximity these days.

    1. Obviously John Ruskin never drove North on The New Jersey Turnpike or Garden State Parkway on a Sunday night during the summer...Shore traffic going home...

  7. Wonderfully stated. As an avid hiker and backpacker, I've heard the saying; "there's no such as bad weather, only bad gear."

  9. We really get enough stormy seas here in New Jersey so not something we look forward too...Hurricane Sandy did a pretty good job on us a few years ago, some shore towns still rebuilding.

  10. Here I sit in my hometown in Sweet Tea Land and I hate storms. I’m 300 miles from those lovely sandy beaches and I’m not fond of being there during a storm. The times in my life however, when I’ve experienced stormy weather on either coast on rocky beaches there has been a certain exhilaration and seemingly no fear. Oh, and by the way, loved the picture.

  11. The movie "The Perfect Storm" reminds me of my first Newport- Bermuda Race when we raced through the hurricane 'Agnes' in 1972... No Thank you...
