F.L. Woods Shirts - Made in the US

Photos by Salt Water New England
There is almost a false dichotomy when it comes to clothing today.  If you want lighter and brighter items, your options are too often rather vulgar (too bright) and cheaply made (such as "Made in China").  Meanwhile, more substantial and well finished items items are often only available in colors that are a tad drab.

It wasn't always that way; back to the 1980s, it was so easy to get clothes that were brighter but also very well made.   This combination is of what I think when I wear F.L. Woods shirts today.  At a time when everyone seems to be wearing graphite and black, these shirts are a breath of fresh air - light and bright and still very well constructed.  (And at a time when more vendors who had touted "Made in the US" are quietly shifting to "imported" garments, F.L. Woods' are still made locally.)

I find that these Men's shirts are easy for a woman to wear, as their full cut is more forgiving around the hips and the tails are not too long.   And while the sleeve length is perfect for me, they can also be rolled up.  I wear them in a size Medium, which is slightly oversized, which is my preference.

  1. Graphite and black. . . Along with various shades of taupe, ecru, eggshell, or oatmeal, and on a really wild day mocha. Let's hear it for some color! The shirt looks very nice by the way.

  4. Muffy, Thank you for the fit description. The pink window shirt looks so cool and comfortable. I contacted the company for actual garment measurements on the shirts and they sent me the following info:

    Medium:
    34” Sleeve
    24” Chest
    31” Length

    Large:
    35” Sleeve
    25” Chest
    31.5” Length

My husband's birthday is next month so I'm going to purchase one for each of us ( I deserve one too, right?).
