  2. The osprey are back! My heart throbs every time I see them return to my old school in Gloucester, VA. They have a live cam now ( a technology I appreciate today) I researched osprey in the early 80's as they were making their comeback from almost being wiped out from DDT. Every March I wait to hear their chirps and when I do, I grab my binoculars, look up and sigh with relief and thank heaven above that they survived the poisonous past, current human threats and their long migrations.
On this 49th anniversary of Earth Day, you may enjoy the song, The Osprey by Scottish fiddler, Dougie Maclean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QjECxMICdM

The osprey remind me to remain hopeful. For all we humans do wrong, we also know how to ( and can) make things right again.

  7. A somewhat startled Osprey, no doubt.
