  2. Nice sunstar. And the facial recognition appears to have found, and focused on, the goats' faces. Interesting. Love your "out and abouts." You have a great eye.

  3. What fun! Goats in chairs, zinnias, farm produce, and a very Puritan take on Halloween decorations.

  4. Thanks. Very enjoyable. I liked the bales of hay. Probably nostalgia driven since I see only those huge round things. The apples looked tasty. I just finished off two Fuji apples...I know they were apples because the sign at the grocery said they were but other than the sign and the familiar apple appearance ..... My wife asked me why I ate them and I said well...ok the critters may like the rest of the bag.

  10. Further evidence of what a great eye Muffy has. I notice that just as Al Hirschfeld put Nina in every drawing, Muffy includes at least one photo of a Volvo in every "Out and About" collection, or so it seems. Muffy, what is this thing you have for Volvos? As Robin Williams said in "Crazy People," "They're boxy but they are good." Okay, the new ones are somewhat less boxy, but except for the old P1800s, Volvos don't evoke passion among people who are really into cars. Volvos are expensive to maintain. Subarus have them beat in terms of snow-country practicality and value. Just what is it about Volvos that makes them worthy of the ongoing photographic homage Muffy pays them? (Or does Volvo pay Muffy for that exposure?)

    1. One must admire Volvo’s if only for their durability. Last year about this time we were in Beruit and the Bekaa Valley; ‘70’s and ‘80’s vintage Volvo’s all over the place (and ‘70 - ‘80’s vintage Mercedes). Some of them were really beat up. But they were still rolling.

  11. This is always my favorite sort of post -- visiting New England -- especially in the fall. So pretty. Was lucky enough to visit Essex, CT this weekend. Quite beautiful. Had an amazing cup of latte there and watched several wedding parties (or maybe just one gigantic wedding party) arrive at the Griswold Inn. Also visited the Florence Griswold Museum -- wonderful paintings by the art colony that used to come and paint every summer back in the day.

  12. This may be my favorite "out and about" yet! One can never go wrong with goats, flowers and weathervanes!! I have an odd sense of homesickness right now for places I've never visited!!
