Attempting to Dress up the Tweed

  1. Love the pictures of your style combinations! I sometimes find myself in a pickle as to how to wear my tweeds. I've collected many different articles (and so patterns) of tweed clothing over the years (nothing consistent, just with travel and happenstance). Are there rules for thumb for combining tweeds or which colors of the pattern one should pull out of the patterns, etc.? Usually, I just end up wearing brown + tweed. This photo gives me some inspiration to be more colorful. I love looking at Cordings for their style, but have never managed to be so coordinated... just too busy. Any advice on how to incorporate tweed more smartly into my work and daily wear? thanks!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous. I love this traditional style with the wool tweed and pearls and of course, navy. Earlier this fall I searched for an inexpensive tweed blazer or hacking jacket at Bean and Orvis. Neither of them are carrying anything like that now. I dream of the return to a a day when more refined casual attire is ' on trend'...but I'm not holding my breath. Elizabeth

  3. Maybe use a silk blouse or scarf to change up the look of tweed jacket. I notice bows and trim on Chanel style tweed jackets which make them look very sophisticated. Rows of pearl necklaces or gold chains. Quality leather accessories. Right now my favorite jacket is a navy blue tweed from Pendleton. I got it second hand from Ebay. I wear it all the time cause it looks polished without being too fussy.

  4. So pretty, so elegant. Can’t go wrong with navy and pearls.
