Chanterelle Mushrooms

Photo by Salt Water New England
These chanterelle mushrooms were found nearby, and will be sautéed in butter, salt and pepper.

The local moist season has been of benefit to many varieties of mushrooms.  The early growth of these, typically in season late summer and early autumn, made them easier to spot against the living leaves than the more typical dead.

  2. Beautiful ‘shrooms. Yes, moist weather has yielded a bumper crop this year. Spotted bolete, coral, and black trumpets on a recent walk in the nw Conn woods. Bon Appétit!
