  1. Constance Spry: I haven't seen that name in years, but I well remember checking out her book on floral arranging several times back about 30 years ago. I would bet that her style of arrangement still holds up today.

    1. Constance Spry was the floral designer for Queen Elizabeth's wedding to Prince Phillip.

  2. Here's another name from the past that you just don't see/hear anymore: Thalassa Cruso. Used to watch her gardening program on public TV with my mother when I was very small at the start of the 1970s.

    Best Regards,

    Heinz-Ulrich von B.

    2. I've said it before and I'll say it again --- antique Staffordshire transferware always enhances any still-life photography!

  3. Let's hear it for the Lincoln County News--the best newspaper in the world in my humble opinion. Does any one remember Crockett's Victory Garden on PBS? The winner of the best garden one year was the proprietor of the Maine Coast Bookshop in Damariscotta, Maine--the hometown of the Lincoln County News.
