Oh, the Rover 2000 TC was the cool car. It came out in 1963. But the Rover 3500 was the real performance car with a V-8 engine. Princess Grace of Monaco had one.
My father always had Rovers in New Haven; a 90 (looked very much like the 100 here), a 3 litre and a 2000. There was a great garage out Whalley Avenue where they were serviced. Can’t remember the name.
Thanks again. I always appreciate pictures of Rovers and Land-Rovers. Triumphs, too.
ReplyDeleteIn my ongoing efforts to be...well, Cool, I must say that this Rover 100 may have replaced Inspector Lynley's Bristol 410 as the car that I must have.
ReplyDeleteMan, what a cool car!

ReplyDeleteLove this...this is the Rolls I remember from my childhood years in the UK.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Gently drives a Rover.
ReplyDeleteA ringing endorsement!
DeleteFirst registered between February and July 1958 in Warwickshire I think. Not far from the factory.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely and, yes, cool car.
