Where can one find good khaki pants for women?

Probably the single most asked question of SWNE is:
"Where can I find good khaki pants for women?"

  1. Great question! And, I’m curious about the travel mug sleeve. It looks like stainless in some kind of a white sleeve. Does it make it an easier grip? Please advise.

  2. I have been wearing the following:
LLBean = Ultimate Chinos, Favorite Fit Straight-Leg (new updated version)
Orvis = Wrinkle-Free Chinos (these are great for work & travel)

  3. Looked in my closet and found all my khakis to be from LL Bean.

  4. I've yet to find, currently available, the perfect combination of khaki pants in my size, with the right fit, made of good, sturdy all-cotton, and without a non-iron finish. The last pair I found that checked off all the requirements were from Garnet Hill, but, alas, they are no longer available in their perfect incarnation, and, alas, I did not stock up when they were.

  5. I have not found khakis that are 100% cotton. Most have some "stretch" in them which irritates my skin. They are hot in the summertime. I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of men's Bills and having them altered to fit me. Has anyone tried this? With success?

    2. Untrue, Bill's Khakis is very much in business, I receive emails from them daily and have purchased men's clothing from them recently.

  6. Mine do have a little stretch in them, but I've had good luck with the ones from Boden.

  7. I think the dearth of responses to this question speaks volumes. Unfortunately.

  8. Well, to be fair, not everyone wears khakis. I haven't worn them since the 90s. I rarely even wear pants - mostly skirts & dresses (with leggings in the winter). I find most pants neither flattering nor comfortable.

  9. Just checked the Bill's website. It's up and running. Go figure.

  10. I would welcome your opinion SWNE! know you have gently stockpiled in the past , but are there any current options that are to your liking?

  11. For a blog so resolutely -- and wonderfully -- Anglophile to speak of "pants" rather than "trousers" seems odd. Our English visitors always snickered helplessly when they heard one American woman ask another if she would be "wearing pants" to an event the next day. "Well, I certainly hope so," they would say under their breath.
