Up March Hill

Snowdrops - Photos by Salt Water New England
Today's snowdrop sightings come a day before the beginning of the climb up March hill.  (One is officially up March hill when the potential for the bitter winter cold has gone, traditionally around the Ides.)  Photovores and others can still get a jump on the growing season with indoor blooms as well as cold frames and greenhouses.

  2. Wow. You are way ahead of us. My daffodils are just beginning to creep up. We still have snow.

    1. No daffs here in Mass. Snowdrops are up, but no flowers yet. Our March hill extends to the end of March, and in NH, til August ;)

  3. Snowdrops and crocuses are blooming, at least what crocus the deer do not eat and daffodils are beginning to open. Fortunately the deer do not bother the daffies but do eat the hyacinths. GRRRRR PA
