  1. I have been around boats and coastal New England for over 70 years and never seen a boat with an outboard configuration like the white boat. With the motor in the down position the bottom of the boat aft of the motor mount would be wide open. What possible purpose could this serve that would be an improvement over a conventional mounting position?

    1. It's an outboard well. The partial transom stops the water from coming in the back.

  2. I have been around boats and coastal New England for a while, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone off-load a lawn mower!! :)

  3. Just as I was looking at boat pictures on this blog, my wife said she had a crossword clue "fishing vessel" and needed the third letter. I cheated...yes, I admit it, and found the answer to be "smack". I don't think I've ever seen/heard a boat called that in books or movies or even a crossword puzzle.
