  1. And now let us believe in a long year that is given to us, new, untouched, full of things that have never been, full of work that has never been done.

(I wish I had written this, but it was Rainer Maria Rilke).

    Happy 2018 to all.

    1. This quote, from a letter Rilke wrote to his wife, is one of my favorites. Several years ago, I found lovely New Year cards from Saturn Press, a letterpress printer on Swan's Island, that had a slightly different translation with two juncos sitting on a branch. I saved one which I framed and keep on my desk.

  2. Harvard Sailing Center in the lower left. Gusts shoot down onto the river through those 'street canyons' on the far Back Bay shoreline. It pays to play them.

  3. Thank you Robert and Bitsy. Wonderful photo Muffy. Happy New Year. N from VA
