Protests, New Haven, 1963

Photos by Salt Water New England
Looking back at the 1963 New Haven protests on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day....

  1. I was there although I did not find myself in any of the pictures.

  2. Student activism in the 60s & early 70s - without internet/social media people were able to gather & make their voices prominently heard on important subjects, like the war, racism, poverty. Totally awesome.

    1. Amazing isn't it? How did they organise all this purely through word of mouth? There is still so much for people to be angry about today, but they think they're doing their bit by ranting into social media echo chambers. The revolution will not start on Twitter.
