Muffy, that's priceless! I am sending to a bunch of friends...hope you don't mind...was there more at the bottom after hurricane? As in categories 1,2,3,4, & 5? I guess Safir-Simpson didn't come along until the 1970s. A bunch of numbers doesn't have nearly the charm of phrases like "umbrellas used with difficulty"!
The NWS reestablished its Coastal Warning Display network in 1989, but reestablished it at select stations in 2007. Many CG stations and yacht clubs participate.
