September through March, all of Mercer's brushed cotton flannel fabrics are just a dream to wear - soft and generously cut. (In the coldest weather, a bit of wool, such as found in their cotton/wool blend, is also tempting.)
And now there is one more 100% cotton flannel from which to choose, Nottingham Tattersall.

DeleteI just spoke to David Mercer and ordered one. He says Merry Christmas

ReplyDeleteI buy all of my shirts from Mercer but do not have any cotton flannels. How do you launder them? Any issues with shrinkage?
ReplyDeleteA regular machine wash and - after an initial full dryer cycle or two - five minutes in the dryer then air dry. The shrinkage has been comparable to that of their oxfords, perhaps an 1/8 of an inch or so more. This flannel is much more refined than the thicker and more nubby L.L. Bean flannel.
DeleteI hardly wear cotton shirts these days, preferring T-shirts for the warmer months and poloneck skivvies for the autumn and winter.
